About
Krishna consciousness is more than a physical culture or a sociological movement; it is the culture of absorption. The whole point of Krishna consciousness is to absorb our mind. The more one knows about the personality of the Lord, the better one can absorb one's mind in chanting His holy name.
The Bhakti-Rasayana verses are a way to increase our knowledge of Krishna, His holy abode, His associates, and His pastimes in Vrindavana-dhama. The Bhakti-Rasayanaverses and commentaries are part of the conclusion of the Sri Brihad-Bhagavatamrita, by Sanatana Goswami.
These verses take the reader on a journey to the spiritual world, Goloka Vrindavana, as it is glorified by Lord Brahma. The verses start with a beautiful description of the principal attractions of Vrindavana, starting with the forests of Vraja and the sound and effect of Krishna's flute. The reader is invited to meditate on the clouds of Vrindavana, the rivers, trees, creepers, bees, cranes, swans, cows, bulls, cowherd boys, Nanda and Yashoda, and finally the cowherd girls.
This beautiful meditation on the verses of Bhakti-Rasayana is accompanied by an audio CD with an enchanting recitation of the verses in both the original Sanskrit and English.
