The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust has dedicated its 2027 calendar to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of its landmark projects, the First American Transcendental Exhibition (F.A.T.E.).
In 1975, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada directed the BBT to financially support and oversee the production of FATE, the first Western theistic diorama exhibition. Though FATE is located in the New Dvaraka Dhama community in Los Angeles, Srila Prabhupada desired dioramas to be an integral part of ISKCON's greater sankirtana movement.
FATE, now the Diorama Museum of Bhagavad-gita, continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of dioramas as a medium for presenting the teach of Srila Prabhupada's books. As this foundational museum undergoes restoration during its Golden Jubilee, the BBT is bringing renewed visibility of FATE, highlighting the importance of preserving one of the most innovative works of ISKCON's visual culture and inspiring ISKCON centers around the world to realize Srila Prabhupada's vision of theistic diorama exhibitions.
