About
Lively and fresh, this is a must-have album for those who love live kirtans. Recorded during the 2010 Festival of the Holy Name in New Raman Reti, this album captures the energy and love of the festival.
Fast-paced at times, meditative and melodic at others, this hour-long kirtan will have you singing and dancing. With Bhadahari Das's lead vocals and harmonium, Chakrini's sweet voice, Purushartha Sadkin's bass guitar, Vishwambhar Sheth's flute, and the mridangas of Madhava Naidoo, Krishna Kishor, Jagannatha Kirtan and Manorama Dasa, this kirtan captures the essence of the first Festival of the Holy name held in Alachua, Florida. Add to all that the chorus of hundreds of ecstatic singers, and this album transports you to a festival devoted to sharing the maha-mantra.
For your convenience, the album has been divided into tracks so you can play different sections of the kirtan. But it's really just one long kirtan, edited down the to best sections.
This is a live recording of one of the concluding kirtans of the 2010 Festival of the Holy Name in Alachua, Florida. This Kirtan was especially sweet for me. The combination of the Maha mantra and the enthusiasm of so many sincere chanters, whose heart were already melted from days of kirtan, gave us all a chance to feel Krshna's love and reciprocation.
