In order to protect His devotee, the saintly child Prahlada, from the persecutions of his father, Hiranyakashipu, the Supreme Lord Krishna appeared as the half-man, half-lion incarnation Lord Nrisimha. For this reason He is worshiped as the protector of the devotees.
The large size, the intricately carved details, and warm golden finish of the brass make this temple-quality murti a wonderful centerpiece for any home or temple altar.
This furious form of Lord Krishna is depicted here in a peaceful mood with Lakshmi Devi seated on His knee. Nrisimha is shown with four arms. Two hands hold a conch and disc, and His upper right hand is raised in benediction. His features, including His large eyes, smiling mouth, and long mane, are all beautifully carved. He wears a simple dhoti and jewelry, and a large crown sits atop His head.
Lakshmi Devi is seated on Nrisimha's knee. She wears a simple sari and jewelry and holds a lotus bud in Her left hand. Ananta Sesha, the serpent form of Lord Balarama, rises behind, spreading His hoods over the two deities.
Lakshmi-Nrisimha sit on a golden thrown carved to resemble the petals of a lotus. This large deity stands almost 13" tall. The intricate detail of Nrisimha and Lakshmi's faces is enhanced because of the size of the deity.
This wonderful deity will make a wonderful centerpiece for any home or temple altar. The artisan-quality brass murti has a warm golden finish.
The deity is 13" tall and 8" wide at the widest point. The base is 7"x 7". Made from poured brass, this statue is solid and sturdy.
This is the last one of these murtis, and it is being offered at a big discount because it has been on display in our retail store and has acquired some tarnish due to age. Most of this brass oxidation can be removed by cleaning with soap, warm water, a soft brush (such as a new toothbrush) and brass polish. Please review the close-up photos showing the oxidation.
